What Are You Reading?

Updated: Apr 6, 2023

*Some of the ‘new’ Bibles alter the scriptures to the point of changing their meaning. For example: ’Today’s English Version’ exchanges the word, “virgin” (Lu. 1:27) for the word “girl.” In the KJV, Jn. 1:12 reads, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

*Some new versions omit the phrase “believe on his name,” leaving out the requirement for becoming a “son of God.” This omission of the “name” may lead people to believe that the following scriptures are of none effect: …there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). …Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).
