Wait

Is. 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

*How often have you prayed and felt like you needed an immediate answer? When I’m in distress, I don’t want to hear encouraging words, I want change! If we would stop fretting and be still and quiet for a moment, we might hear God say, “Wait on me child, wait on me.” To wait means to remain in readiness or in anticipation. We then should patiently trust the Lord, and if we trust Him, then we shall renew our strength. What is our strength but our faith? We will also soar high and be able to run this race and not lose our zeal. We will walk and not falter, so why is it so hard for us to trust? If we put complete trust in God’s will, then we are not in control, and that goes against human nature. It’s also difficult to be patient, especially if your life is in turmoil. Just remember, He will not suffer us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear. (I Cor. 10:13) We must rely on God, for what can we accomplish on our own? Paul said, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.” (II Cor. 3:5) Unquestionably, our abilities and resources all emanate from God. Our faith is sure to be tried by fire that we might receive praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ, and in the end, salvation of our soul
