Rom. 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
*I implore you therefore brethren, by the means of the love, and favor of God , that ye offer your whole being an active operating gift, righteous, pleasing unto God which is your fair, and not extreme duty.
24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

*The name of the Lord is ‘Jesus.’
^He placed the wood in order (line upon line, precept upon precept / rightly dividing the word of truth. (Is. 28:10, II Tim. 2:15)
^He filled 4 barrels with water, and poured it on the sacrifice (That he might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water by the word, (Eph. 5:26)
*Wood = in the Hebrew language means = ‘ates’ or ‘tree’ >

*We must build upon the foundation (or plan of salvation) in Jesus’ name, putting the word of God in order; our sacrifice (our lives) must be washed with water, in baptism in his name, in order to apply the blood for forgiveness (...the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin I Jn. 5:7) Then the fire fell >
WHAT IS THE FIRE? (...the word is like a burning fire - Jer. 20:9) *It is a power that consumes, devours, takes up all) John said inMt. 3:11, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.”
*We receive the Holy Ghost & fire when we are born again >
Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. *The spirit is what gives the Word life!
1 K. 18:40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
*Everything false or sinful must be killed
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.*When everything is in order & every evil & false way is killed - then the rain (blessings) will come
[Baal = worshiped as ‘nature God’ > they looked to him for rain, fertility etc. ]
