Actions Speak Louder Than Words!

Actions Speak Louder Than Words!

*How many times have you heard that phrase? Our actions are our behavior. You can say many things, but what you say means nothing if your actions don’t agree with your words! We usually associate this saying with showing love, not just speaking it. “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed (action) and in truth” (1Jn. 3:18). *Our actions not only prove whether we have the love of Christ, but they also verify our beliefs, our opinions, and our true emotions, for we are known by our ‘fruit.’ Fruit is what we produce or bring forth. “Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” (Matt. 7:16). *We are not known by our conversation, but by our actions. Let’s say what we mean, and mean what we say.

Paul wrote to Titus concerning the unbelieving Jews, "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:16) *They claimed to know God, but their actions proved otherwise!

*If we say to someone in need, "Have peace, I'll pray that you are warmed & filled," what good have I done? Sure, it's good to pray for others, but if I have the means to help & I only speak words unto them, my lack of actions leaves them in the same situation. God expects us to be more than a mouthpiece, declaring his goodness. He expects us to show his goodness. [James 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? / Matt 25:40...Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
