Always in Grace?

Always In Grace?

“The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you” (2 Chr. 15:2). *The invitation to receive eternal life is offered to all, but if the offer is continually refused, he will finally take no for an answer. This is also true for the born again believer that has backslid. You see, we make the choice every day, whether we will “lay hold on eternal life...” >1Tim. 6:12), or yield ourselves unto sin>

Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. (not allowed)

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

1 Cor. 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?

*If we sin willfully, after we have received this precious gift of eternal life, we can’t claim Christ’s sacrifice to redeem us. > Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Heb. 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5. And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

*God is gracious and merciful to forgive us, & yes, we have an advocate > “with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 2:1-2)... but when we continue to reject him, and abuse his mercy, we have no guarantee of forgiveness. It’s not worth risking our salvation to give in to temptations of the flesh. If we will trust God & walk in his spirit, we can overcome sin & live a victorious life!
