Habit = a pattern of action

Updated: Nov 2, 2020

*When we think of habits, we automatically think of ‘bad habits’ – behavior that we continue to indulge in although we know we shouldn’t. Some as insignificant as eating before bedtime, knowing it will disrupt needed sleep; others as life threatening as drinking alcohol, or using drugs. Bad habits are actions that satisfy our flesh, thereby taking control of our lives. This is not victory! We, as saints of God should, as Paul said – bring our body into subjection – subjection to what? > to the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. [1Cor 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection…] *If we cannot control our flesh, how can we have power with God? We are not to be led by the flesh, but by the spirit. [Gal 5:16… Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other…] *By experience I know that breaking habits can be difficult and sometimes painful, but it is worth the freedom you gain.
