Acts 17:23-31 (Paul has come to Athens, preaching the doctrine of Christ; the Athenians were idol worshippers)

23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things

*Paul explains to them that God created all things & He doesn't dwell in temples made with hands. He taught repentance & resurrection to them & they mocked. They had no understanding of the true God that Paul made known to them. > [1 Cor 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.] *There is one God that created all things = Jesus Christ.

*The true God >

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the *true God, and eternal life.

1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (in heaven = present tense – how could Jesus be in heaven when he was standing right there before Nicodemus? He was both God & man >

Matt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

*He was both son and God >

Is. 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isa 45:12 I (God) have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

Isa 45:21….there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. > [Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.]

Isa 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Phil 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same (the Word) was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; (the Word) and without him was not any thing made that was made.

10 He (Jesus, the Word) was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

*God came to earth in the form of man to give himself as a sacrifice for us and declared his name unto all that would hear and receive and he made known the mystery of the gospel of the kingdom unto the apostles and they preached the doctrine that he revealed unto them.

Mark 4:11 ....Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God:

Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
