The Gift

2 Cor 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Is. 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace

Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

*God chose to gift us with the sacrifice of His son that we might have eternal life. He left His place of glory in heaven & clothed Himself with flesh so that He might take our sins to the cross.

The greatest gift of all - forgiveness of our sins!

This gift is not given because we deserve it, but because He loves us so deeply! > Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

*If we obey His doctrine, not only do we have the promise of eternal life, but we can claim all His promises in His Word because He rules over heaven & earth because all authority rests on Him.

We are pardoned by the gift of His grace, through the shedding of His blood for our sins. > Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

*We have peace in a world full of chaos, because He is the Prince of Peace. We have a healer & deliverer from our troubles, because He is the Mighty God. No matter what we face in this world, we can take comfort in knowing that there is a place of everlasting joy in His presence prepared for us in heaven.

*Jesus told the Samaritan woman, “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” (Jn. 4:10)

*All we need to do is ask, & He will show us the way to salvation! >

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

*We have access to the Word of God & His plan of salvation... we just have to receive it. If we believe that Jesus is Lord & that He is raised from the dead, our faith leads us to righteousness & salvation.

If we acknowledge that He is Lord & Savior, & we believe in His salvation, then we will obey the gospel. (Ro. 10:8-15)

●We hear the gospel: Mark 16:15 ...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

●We believe & obey the gospel: Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
