The Reason For Christ

Updated: May 22

1: God alone forgives sin (his blood alone is sinless & powerful) >

Lu. 5 18-25 (21 Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

[Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. ]

[Jude 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.]

2. There is no remission without shedding of blood >

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

[Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.]

[Col 1:14-15 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God...]

3. The blood of bulls & goats could not make atonement (neither is there any fleshly being worthy) > Heb 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

4. So, God prepared himself a body that could be sacrificed for us > Heb. 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

[1 Jn.1:7 ...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin]

[Rev 1:5 Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood...]

[Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.]

5. Everyone must enter into the holy place >

Jn. 3:5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

*We enter by the blood of Jesus >

Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

*He was made flesh in order to take our place at Calvary and to experience our infirmities >

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

[Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.]

*Where Jesus is, there is hope & healing & comfort. If we will learn to draw nigh to him, he will draw nigh to us. > Ps 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

*If we study his word & seek his face, we will learn his ways, & will find ourselves closer to him day by day. The more we draw near to him, the more of his grace & loving kindness we will experience.
