Treasure

Updated: Apr 6, 2023

Matt 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

*A treasure is something of great worth, it is precious to you. The kingdom of heaven is so precious, we should be willing to seek for it with all our heart until we are sure we have found it! We should seek after it as a treasure… we must give all of ourselves in order to own it (that is our price).

Matt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

*What you treasure; what’s important to you – that’s where your heart is.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

*This is the condition for obtaining the kingdom. We must guard our hearts and watch over them so that our heart follows hard after the things of God. It’s important for us to be aware of the distractions & temptations of the world that would cause us to stray from the kingdom.

It’s ok to enjoy the things that this life has to offer & to plan for our future here on earth, but we must remember all things here are temporal & will not last & cannot be compared to our heavenly home.

1 Cor 2:9...Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Matt 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
